Depth/series 103
'Depth' Series 103 is an ongoing project that depicts the subjects of nature, like moss and algae. elements that that we as humans have become so accustomed to seeing. the things we tend to over look in life, the every day ordinary and due to these common encounters and the way we automatically dismiss them as insignificant. they are forced into 'a state of the forgotten'. however, they are all integral parts of the landscape.
by using an aperture of 5.6 or less, the minimal and restricted focus allows our perspective to change and involuntarily recognise the 'beauty' in what something that would necessarily be referred to as 'ugly'.

Caspar David Friedrich is a series of images inspired by the 19th century romantic landscape painter, Caspar David Friedrich. An artist that revolutionised the vision of the sublime and Romanticism, with the intensity of emotion. The subject standing faced away, almost giving us as the viewer a look through their eyes. Where through nature, man's strength became incomparable. This is my representation of this.
