'Depth' Series 103 is an ongoing project that depicts the subjects of nature, like moss and algae. elements that that we as humans have become so accustomed to seeing. the things we tend to over look in life, the every day ordinary and due to these common encounters and the way we automatically dismiss them as insignificant. they are forced into 'a state of the forgotten'. however, they are all integral parts of the landscape.

Primarily using a Nikon D810 with a Nikon AF-s 105mm f2.8G macro lens to capture the aesthetic visuals of the world.
Challenging themes of perspective and the idea of abstraction, encouraging viewers to look through the lens with a different viewpoint, often creating a false pretence of illusion. As a fine art photographer, I tend to utilise conceptual ideas to illustrate the ideology that links alongside the embedded emotional attachment between us as humans and the realities of the physical world.

My work is highly influenced by theoretical philosophers predominantly those who address notions of the contemporary sublime such as Immanuel Kant and Edmund Burke. This can be reflected partically within my landscape series titled; Romanticism. The conflicting feelings of pleasure and pain and the various states of the mind we enthral when viewing a landscape. subconsciously shape our individual perception of how we respond and feel about certain art and the value of beauty. This can be seen within artists like J.M.W. turner and Caspar David Friedrich who expressed sensibility and passion within their work, encouraging artist freedom and imagination. This is where it become relevant for me as a fine artist, that portraying your personal response into your work and allowing the viewer to absorb and respond in their own way.
